Louyz, whose real name is Louise Delarue, is a French street artist born in 1987 in Paris. She comes from a long family tradition of mural painters: her grandfather, Fabio Rieti, was a renowned muralist, and her mother, Leonor Rieti, continues this artistic legacy. Louyz therefore represents the third generation of mural artists in her family.
She began her street art practice in late 2018, forging her own artistic path while drawing inspiration from classical muralism. Her work can be found mainly in Paris, particularly in the 13th arrondissement, and is characterized by a blend of trompe-l’œil effects, lush vegetation, and animal imagery, with a special fondness for lizards, which have become her visual signature.
Through her art, Louyz seeks to reconnect the city with nature, bringing color, poetry, and a sense of wonder into urban spaces. She primarily works with acrylic paint and brushes rather than spray cans, favoring a painterly and detailed approach to street art.
Today, Louyz is recognized on the urban art scene for her colorful, dreamlike universe, creating murals that invite passersby to pause, look up, and rediscover their surroundings.
