Where to find street art in Las Vegas (United States)
Las Vegas's street art scene took shape from 1998 onward with the establishment of the 18b Arts District, an 18-block area between the Stratosphere and Fremont Street created to foster art, culture, and urban renewal in what had been an industrial zone. A turning point came in 2013 with the Life is Beautiful festival, which commissions works from internationally recognized muralists each year.
The Arts District, centered on Main Street and Antique Alley, is the core of the scene, with rotating murals, galleries, and studios alongside a monthly First Friday gathering. The F Street underpass features mosaic murals depicting cultural icons, while Downtown holds a concentration of festival-commissioned pieces.
Shepard Fairey painted an 18-story mural on the Plaza Hotel & Casino, one of the city's most prominent public artworks. First Friday draws thousands monthly to over 80 exhibition venues and 50 outdoor artists along Main Street. The Arts District has been described by the New York Times as the most authentically local neighborhood in the city, with over 230 documented murals.
