Where to find street art in Denver (United States)

Denver's street art scene has been active for decades, built on a culture of repurposing declining industrial warehouses rather than demolishing them. The RiNo (River North) district was named in 2005 by local artists and later recognized by AFAR magazine in 2019 as the "Street Art Capital of the U.S.," cementing the city's reputation on the national scene.

RiNo holds over 200 murals along its main streets — Blake Street, Larimer Street, Walnut Street, and Brighton Boulevard — making it the undisputed center of the scene. The Art District on Santa Fe, home to over 30 Colorado galleries, and South Broadway round out the city's artistic offer, while Confluence Park in the Highland neighborhood features murals covering the façades of bars and breweries.

Among the most recognized muralists are Pat Milbery, Thomas "Detour" Evans, and Casey Kawaguchi. The Denver Walls festival — formerly known as CRUSH — is held each fall and stands as Colorado's largest independent street art event, founded by Robin Munro. Over 100 new murals are completed across the city each summer.
