Street art here is a recent development, born from an effort to regenerate the town centre through creativity. It grew around the Ryde Arts Trail, a mural route launched in 2022 for the Jubilee and driven by the Ryde Business Association and the Heritage Action Zone, with funding from the ACE Jubilee Fund. It extends the Ryde Arts festival, backed by Arts Council England and Historic England.

The trail links nine works over roughly three kilometres, from the shopping streets to the seafront. Visitors find a piece by Jenna Sabine at Monkton Arts on East Street, work by the Community Murals collective at the junction of High Street and St Johns Road, and further murals at Co-op Square, Mill Lane and the corner of Castle Street and George Street. On the Esplanade, the Hovertravel terminal carries a psychedelic mural, while a former telephone box on Lind Street has become the installation named Re:Box.

The local scene rests on community artists. The Community Murals collective, led by Emma and Hollie Jackson, is behind several interventions, from the Waterside Pool on North Walk to shopfronts across the centre. The Ryde Exhibitionists, writer Anmarie Bowler and photographer Zoë Barker, have run the Re:Box project since August 2022. The island also produced the graffiti writer 10 Foot, a more radical figure whose work appears mainly in the country's larger cities.
