Where to find street art in Malmö (Sweden)
Malmö, Sweden's third-largest city, is known as one of the birthplaces of Scandinavian street art. It was here that Artscape organized in 2014 the first large-scale street art festival in Sweden, bringing together 15 international artists to transform the city's facades into an open-air gallery. Since then, the movement has continued to grow, with new works appearing in the neighborhoods of Sofielund, Seved and Möllevången.
The Norra Sofielund district is home to a particularly high density of murals, ranging from realism to geometric minimalism. Artists such as Phlegm, Natalia Rak, Stinkfish and NeSpoon have left works here that are now part of the neighborhood's visual identity. The city is home to over 46 documented works on global street art platforms.
Malmö is also a city oriented toward contemporary creation, with the Malmö Konsthall and numerous public art initiatives creating a dialogue between institutional art and urban expression. Its geographic position, connected to Copenhagen by the Öresund Bridge, makes it a natural stop for travelers wishing to explore the artistic scenes of the region.
