Linares is a Spanish city in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, with around 55,000 inhabitants. The former lead-mining capital of 19th-century Spain, it retains a repurposed industrial heritage (chimneys, stations, workshops) and remains famous for its deep links with flamenco - it is the birthplace of singer Raphael and the place where bullfighter Manolete died.

Its street art scene is driven by the 23700 Arte Urbano festival (run by the Rampa Pro association), which since 2019 has invited Spanish muralists to transform façades in the city centre, the peripheral districts and the nearby Estación Linares-Baeza settlement. The Rompe lo establecido mural by Galician muralist Diego As, painted in 2024 on the station, ranked 8th best mural in the world for 2024 on Street Art Cities.

Linares is part of an emerging Andalusian mural circuit alongside Úbeda, Baeza and the city of Jaén.
