Fene is a small Galician municipality of around 13,000 inhabitants, on the northern coast of Galicia in the La Coruña province, facing the Ferrol estuary. A former working-class stronghold of the Navantia (ex-Astano) shipyards, the town has gradually reinvented itself around maritime heritage and local culture.

Its street art scene has grown since 2022 around the Perla Mural Fest, an annual festival that invites international muralists to transform the gable ends of residential buildings. In 2024, the Charanguista Andino mural by Chilean artist Cristóbal Persona, painted on a block on Avenida Porta do Sol, was voted Best Mural of the World by the Street Art Cities platform.

Fene is part of the Galician street art circuit that also includes Ferrol, Carballo and Vigo.
