Map of street art in Korolyov (Russia)
The town's link to urban art runs first through Pokras Lampas (Arseny Pyzhenkov), born here in 1991, when Korolyov was still called Kaliningrad. As a teenager, in the mid-2000s, he took up graffiti watching tags on fences along the railway on the commute to Moscow. He later shaped his style, calligrafuturism, fusing calligraphy with mural lettering.
Several districts concentrate the activity. The railway corridor between Podlipki and Bolshevo has been called an open-air graffiti gallery. Near Bolshevo station, figurative pieces became locally known (Lisa Simpson with a saxophone, Darkwing Duck, a 'Sablezut' with a koala). The Podlipki shopping centre carries themed works (vegetables, animals, a giant crab), and Kostino, a constructivist quarter, rounds out the east.
Among the names, Lampas remains the anchor: in April 2021, back in his home town, he painted with Alexander Shon a mural on the Children's School of Arts, inscribed with lines tied to the local space industry (including Sergei Korolev's "human thought knows no barriers"). Everyday writing is carried by crews such as KorolevGraffitiBlok. The scene stays informal, with no dedicated festival or institutional gallery.
