Where to find street art in Cluj-Napoca (Romania)

Cluj-Napoca is Romania's second largest city and the main cultural hub of the Transylvania region. Nicknamed the 'cultural capital of Romania', it is home to one of the country's largest universities and attracts a vibrant student population that fuels a particularly active creative scene.

The city's mural scene emerged in the 2000s, driven by local pioneers such as KERO ZEN and OCU, two artists who helped shape the face of Romanian street art. The Mănăștur district, in the western part of the city, is home to many monumental murals, including those produced through the municipal project 'Art in the School Yard', which brought together Romanian and international artists.

Cluj-Napoca hosts urban art festivals each summer that continue to enrich its mural heritage. The Un-hidden Romania platform has mapped and documented a large part of these works, helping establish the city as a recognised destination on the European street art circuit.
