Where to find street art in Poznań (Poland)
Poznań is one of Poland's oldest cities, the historic capital of Greater Poland and a major economic centre in the west of the country. Its medieval market square, flanked by colourful facades, and the Śródka district illustrate the urban renewal the city has undergone since the 2000s.
The Jeżyce and Wilda districts, to the west and south of the centre, have established themselves as Poznań's main mural creation zones. The Outer Spaces festival, launched in the early 2010s by the Inner Art association, invited international artists such as Marina Zumi, 108, 2501 and Kenor to paint on gable walls, leaving works that redefined the visual identity of these gentrifying neighbourhoods.
Poznań's street art scene has been documented for several years by the «What's Art Poznan» initiative and photographer Tomasz Bombrych, who have mapped more than 120 works across the city. Local artists such as Noriaki, whose character «Pan Peryskop» has become a street icon, mix with international guests across a dense and varied urban fabric.
