Tilburg is a city in the south of the Netherlands, in North Brabant province, with around 230,000 inhabitants. The former capital of the Dutch textile industry, it has gradually reinvented itself around its university (Tilburg University), its repurposed industrial heritage (LocHal, MOTI) and a dynamic creative scene.

Its street art scene is one of the most active in the Netherlands, driven by Mural Mountains and Stichting Sk8eiland, and concentrated in the Kruidenbuurt (in the west, with streets named after culinary herbs) and Spoorzone districts. Local muralist Paul Watty painted De Bij there, a hyper-realist mural ranked 7th best in the world for 2024 by Street Art Cities.

Tilburg also hosts the Roadburn festival and was nominated for the Best Street Art City 2025 title.
