Where to find street art in Marrakech (Morocco)

Marrakech, known as the "Red City", is one of Morocco's cultural capitals, famous for its UNESCO-listed medina and the modern Guéliz district. The street art scene emerged in the mid-2000s, driven by Moroccan artists such as Morran Ben Lahcen and Kalamour, before attracting international talent during the MB6 Street Art festival held alongside the 2016 Marrakech Biennale.

The Guéliz neighborhood is home to the legal graffiti wall on Rue Oum Errabia, the city's main space for mural expression, where local and international works coexist in an officially tolerated setting. The medina also hides pieces scattered through the Kasbah alleyways, on the walls near the Spice Market, and around the David Bloch Gallery, which plays a key role in promoting Moroccan urban art.

Today, Marrakech remains a crossroads between tradition and modernity for street artists, drawn by its ochre color palettes and the richness of Berber iconography. The city continues to host artistic residencies, notably at the Jardin Rouge, cementing street art's place in its cultural landscape.
