Where to find street art in Casablanca (Morocco)

Casablanca, Morocco's economic capital and largest city, has also become one of Africa's leading cities for street art. Since the Sbagha Bagha festival was founded in 2013 by the EAC – L'Boulvart association, dozens of Moroccan and international artists have claimed the city's facades, transforming neighborhoods like El Hank, Sidi Bernoussi, Hay Hassani, and the corniche area into open-air galleries.

The Sbagha Bagha festival — whose name means "he colored it" in Darija — has been instrumental in shaping the local mural scene, launching artists such as Abid, Amin Brush, and Ed Oner. The Casablanca-based Placebo Studio collective has become one of Morocco's leading graffiti organizations, with projects realized in Dubai, Barcelona, London, and Paris. More recently, the Esplanade Art initiative, led by La Place and the Institut français de Casablanca, opened a permanent outdoor museum along Boulevard Zerktouni.

Today, Casablanca is home to some of Africa's largest murals, including several monumental works at the Nevada Skatepark on Place Rachidi, which has become a hub for Casablanca's urban culture.
