Where to find street art in Guadalajara (Mexico)
Guadalajara is deeply rooted in Mexico's revolutionary muralism tradition: José Clemente Orozco, one of the three great muralists alongside Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros, was from the state of Jalisco. Contemporary graffiti emerged in the city from the late 1970s under the influence of American urban scenes, and by the 1990s the city had become Mexico's most important graffiti metropolis.
The Centro Histórico, especially around Plaza Universidad and the Teatro Degollado, hosts significant mural works. The Colonia Americana district, including the historic Barrio de Analco, offers dense street art coverage, while the neighborhoods of Tlaquepaque and Zapopan blend traditional murals with contemporary urban art.
Saner, Cix, and C.F. are among the most active artists in the current scene, producing works around themes of indigenous heritage, social resistance, and biodiversity. The Guadalajara International Mural Festival brings together regional and international artists annually. The Street Art Cities platform catalogs over 119 documented works across the city.
