Map of street art in Amman (Jordan)

Amman is the capital and largest city of Jordan, stretched across nineteen hills in the heart of the Levant, near the Jordan River and the Dead Sea. More than four million people coexist there in a mosaic of districts, from the bustling alleys of the historic downtown (al-Balad) to the residential hills of Jabal Amman, Jabal al-Weibdeh, and Abdoun.

Its street art scene developed from the 2010s onward, driven by the Baladk Street Art Project collective, which has organized an annual festival blending Jordanian and international artists since 2013. The walls of Jabal al-Weibdeh and Jabal Amman have gradually been covered in monumental frescoes — including Suhaib Attar's famous geometric deer.

Amman's muralism engages with regional issues — hosting Palestinian and Syrian refugees, urban identity, modernity of the Arab world — and benefits from the support of NGOs such as AptART, which mobilizes artists to work with vulnerable populations.
