Genoa is a port city on the Ligurian coast, known for its UNESCO-listed historic centre and an art scene that stretches from medieval alleyways to the industrial districts of the Valpolcevera valley.
The On The Wall project, launched in 2019 in the Certosa neighbourhood — severely affected by the Morandi Bridge collapse in 2018 — transformed industrial building facades into an open-air gallery. Italian and international artists such as Ozmo, Zedz, Gola Hundun, Tellas and Okuda San Miguel painted the walls along the Polcevera riverbank.
Genoa also hosts street art initiatives in its historic centre, including the Luzzati Gardens and along the Sopraelevata Aldo Moro, making the city a testing ground for large-scale urban art.
