In the Val-de-Marne, a department described as an open-air museum of urban art centred on Vitry-sur-Seine, local mural work grew mainly from 2018 onward. Most interventions stem from institutional commissions, framed by the national charter "1 immeuble, 1 œuvre" (one building, one artwork). Styles range from abstract muralism to graffuturism, with a taste for anamorphosis.

The main focus sits on rue Ambroise Croizat, where the student residence of the same name (at number 107) had 2,500 square metres of corridors, lifts and ceilings painted across seven floors. A second point of interest stands on rue Georges Lebigot, at the cooperative bookshop Points Communs. These works stay semi-private: the residence, run by Sergic, is not freely open to the public.

Designed by the Urban Art Agency for developer Linkcity (Bouygues group), the residence gathered five artists, one per floor: Astro, Olivia de Bona, Zdey, Asto (a graffuturism practitioner) and Théo Lopez. The bookshop façade belongs to JR's participatory Inside Out project (2018). No local festival is documented in Villejuif; visitors instead follow the Grand Paris street art trail, from Vitry-sur-Seine.
