Map of street art in Périgueux (France)
Urban art in this Dordogne prefecture town has grown in recent years, built on graffiti and mural painting. The local council unveiled a fresco by the artists EGGS in 2019. In 2022, for the fortieth anniversary of the France Bleu Périgord radio station, Lyon graffiti artist Lasco painted "Ondes pariétales," depicting animals from the Lascaux cave and tying the spray can to the region's prehistoric heritage.
The Toulon district holds much of the activity: Le Sans Réserve, a contemporary music venue set up in 2022 in the former Filature de l'Isle, ran a mural project there with the youth outreach club Le Chemin. A disused industrial site hosted a graffiti jam in 2023, and tags are recorded in the town centre, on Rue des Izards.
Names active in Périgueux include the EGGS58 artists, the writer Syndrom and the VEC and GB crews (Dylem, Ynoxe, Easy, Shore), who met at that jam. The GIE La Graphisterie collective offers graffiti classes, murals and custom work, while the A L'Art Notre association supports cultural programming. With no recurring dedicated festival, the scene rests on these jams, commissioned walls and local initiatives rather than a marked trail or a specialist gallery.
