La Seyne-sur-Mer is a French commune in Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, with around 65,000 inhabitants. The former French capital of shipbuilding, located opposite Toulon on the south shore of the bay, it has since the 2010s embarked on a cultural reconversion around its industrial heritage (Lifting Bridge, former shipyards) and its beaches.
Its street art scene has grown around the Minifest festival, launched in 2021 by the city and the Graphik Art association. Each edition transforms the gable ends of the town centre into an open-air gallery with a dozen French and international muralists. The La Seyne Sur Mer mural by the Argentine duo Ciclope, painted in 2024 above the Marie-Claire florist, ranked 17th best mural in the world on Street Art Cities.
La Seyne-sur-Mer is part of an emerging Provençal mural circuit alongside Marseille, Toulon and Nice.
