Map of street art in La Giettaz (France)
La Giettaz lies at 1,150 m at the foot of the Aravis pass and range, on the border between Savoie and Haute-Savoie. The Tour de France entered the massif for the first time through this village in 1911. Its ski resort, marketed as La Giettaz-en-Aravis and based at the hamlet of Le Plan, is linked to the Portes du Mont-Blanc area with Megève, Combloux and Cordon.
Murals cluster around the village centre and Le Plan. In the school playground, Pikanoa painted two masked figures in 2025, somewhere between skiers and explorers, alongside a sled dog and a golden-eyed cat; the same year SowanOne created L'envol on the Le Plan snow front. The museum garden on Rue de la Douane received a chalk mural by Julien Alonso in 2024, since faded away, then a mosaic portrait by Saro in 2026. CRBZ painted the Le Char transformer on Route du Plan in 2026.
The festival day held here featured, in 2025, a screening of Antoine Mesnage's film about a highline rigged at the Porte des Aravis, and in 2026 a mountain bike and freestyle ski show. The Val d'Arly Street Art Festival has been organised every March since 2024 by the tourist office and the Papajosette gallery.
