Where to find street art in Fort-de-France (France)

Fort-de-France is the capital of Martinique, a French overseas department and region in the Caribbean. The city hosts one of the most dynamic street art scenes in the French Antilles, driven since 2019 by the Milmurs Festival and since 2024 by the ArtMada Street Festival, organized by the NPL Mada Paint collective.

The Terres Sainville neighborhood, northeast of the city center, was transformed into an open-air gallery during successive editions of the Milmurs Festival, which brought together local and international artists to paint monumental murals celebrating themes of the marine environment, Caribbean heritage, and solidarity. More than twenty permanent works are now visible there.

With the ArtMada festivals, Fort-de-France has joined the network of Caribbean cities that celebrate their Afro-descendant and Caribbean identity through urban art. The city is a unique entry point for discovering contemporary creation in the Lesser Antilles.
