Map of street art in Cohennoz (France)
Cohennoz lies on the left bank of the Arly, facing the Aravis range at the foot of the Signal de Bisanne, between 520 and 1,880 m. Split from Héry-sur-Ugine during the French Revolution, the municipality has fewer than 150 residents. Its official centre is just a handful of houses, while the hamlet of Le Cernix, on the Crest-Voland side, has grown much larger with the ski resort the two villages share.
The murals are at Le Cernix. In 2025 Alan Ezur painted a woman's face emerging from icy mist on the Darbelots snowmaking plant, a work titled Déesse des Cimes (Goddess of the Peaks). The same year Queen of Two Diamonds decorated the Cernix picnic room, near the Prarian car park, with a piece called Là où le temps s'arrête (Where Time Stands Still). Both walls can be seen all year round, a short walk from the slopes and Place du Cernix.
The Crest-Voland Cohennoz resort hosts the opening day of the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival; in 2025 Place du Cernix held a spray can customising workshop with Rom Art Crime. Run since 2024 by the tourist office and the Papajosette gallery, the festival adds new murals to the valley trail every winter.
