Map of street art in Cergy (France)
A new town in the Val-d'Oise built from the 1970s, Cergy shaped its urban-art identity around the Art Osons association and its Caps Attack festival, launched in September 2017 for the association's tenth anniversary. The scene relies on the large facades of the new town and on La Lanterne, a 1200 m² third-space that runs artist residencies.
The works cluster in the Grand Centre, around the Préfecture and the 3 Fontaines shopping mall, in the Saint-Christophe district along the Axe Majeur-Horloge line, and in the Francis Combe craft zone. The tunnel under boulevard de l'Oise, beneath the station, rounds out a trail of roughly 5 km served by the RER A line.
Caps Attack, whose fifth edition ran in 2025 (the next one expected in July 2027), has brought about forty artists onto some twenty walls, close to 2000 m². Contributors include Farid Rueda, Fio Silva ("Clin d'ailes", 2022), Kalouf ("Le Langage des Singes", 2023), Corentin Spear, Taqi Spateen, Anna Conda and the TSF Crew. Aero's "Queen Bee", voted best fresco in France in 2019, has gone with the demolition of its wall. The Cergy-Pontoise tourist office runs guided tours.
