Map of street art in Redu (Belgium)

This village in the Belgian Ardennes is known for two apparently unrelated things: its bookshops, which made it one of Europe's book villages, and its space station, the European Space Agency site set apart from the centre. It is the second that puts it on the urban art map.

On 23 February 2015, Invader cemented six mosaics there in a single day, worth 280 points in the FlashInvaders game. The operation was part of a tour of the agency's sites across Europe, run the same year he sent one of his pieces to the International Space Station, and which also took him to Darmstadt and Noordwijk. Two of the six have since gone.

The concentration is total: the village's urban art rests on that one technical perimeter, with nothing equivalent in the streets of the centre. The meeting between a satellite control site and imagery drawn from 1980s arcade games is no accident, the agency itself having documented and claimed these interventions.
