The great crested grebe (Haubentaucher in German, which gives the building its name) glides across an expanse of fragmented blue ice in this detail of JD Art's MAAYA mural at Berlin's RAW-Gelände. The bird's orange crest and black-and-white plumage are rendered with striking realism, contrasting with the geometric ice-crystal shards that surround it. The work pays tribute to the bird that gave its name to the former iconic venue on Revaler Straße.
