On the gable of a garage, a large black and white engraving heightened with gold: a wolf-like dog stops at the edge of the fir trees, lips curled and ears pricked, while a golden snake coils above him. Below the ground line the image flips into negative and shows the same animal's skeleton in the earth, tangled with roots and a white lightning bolt. A 37 sq m mural painted with a brush in 2022 for Le Locle's exomusée, the second panel of its smugglers' dogs trilogy: this one imagines what the animal, free for a moment, hears of the forest and of its ancestors.
