Illustrator, animator, and independent artist Dominik Rüegg, also known as Drü Egg, was born in St. Gallen in 1987. In the 2000s, after cultivating a passion for plants and obtaining a qualification in landscape gardening, he was admitted to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he studied 2D animation techniques. A small technical building covered from end to end in flat blues, turquoises, sand and black: clouds, bushes, roads, tunnels and bridges interlock as simplified pictograms, and a large sand-coloured smiley fills the gable. The vents and windows are worked into the drawing as part of the scenery. A 240 sq m mural painted with roller and brush in 2022 for Le Locle's exomusée, on the Actiflo water treatment plant beside the river Bied.
