The whole gable end of this house on Chemin du Champ de Mars is painted: a woman in profile, wearing a white and orange headwrap and draped in blue and red striped cloth, set against a wide red disc above a blue crescent. The background repeats yellow and orange geometric screens drawn from West African textiles. Painted in October 2023 for the L'Art habite la Ville trail, the piece pays tribute to the African diaspora in Mons and to the place mothers hold in those cultures.
