Born in Paris in 1975, French-Swiss artist Nasty is one of the city's first-generation writers: he started painting walls and subway cars in 1988, aged thirteen, and joined the AEC crew (Artistes en Cavale) in 1990. The art world picked him up early, with a first show at Galerie Magda Danysz in 1992 alongside JonOne and Psyckoze, and he went on to make the enamel signs and pocket maps of the Paris…

White letters and numerals, sprayed freehand in a script inherited from medieval rotunda calligraphy, coil into a bubble floating in a midnight blue sky. Let your eye wander through the tangle and the title surfaces from within, already spelled out in small letters in the top left corner: "Prends ton temps", take your time. A 25 m² mural painted in 2019 for the exomusée of Le Locle on a wall of the Jeanneret school, where Nasty urges the pupils of Switzerland's watchmaking capital to slow down.
