Giovanna Pistone, known as Gio Pistone, was born in Rome in 1974 and works there from a shared studio. She began pasting her drawings on the city's streets at eighteen, in the early 1990s. Her world is peopled with fantastical, gently monstrous creatures in bold colour and geometric pattern, born of her relationship with the world of dreams.

Painted right beside the observatory, Gio Pistone's mural brings to life the constellations of the southern celestial hemisphere, invisible from Aielli: the Southern Fish, the Greater and Lesser Dogs, Orion, the Hare, the ship Argo, the Centaur and the Hydra. The figures chase each other in a colourful round facing the Fucino valley.
