On the gable of a building on Townsend Street, next door to the Fired Creations pottery café, a twisting tree spreads red, orange and green foliage against a turquoise sky that fades into yellow. Sharp aerosol strokes in blue and white bend the branches as if caught in a gust, then spill into waves of colour around the base of the trunk. The wall is the work of Trackside Studios, a Halifax collective known for large-scale murals, painted entirely with spray cans and left free of lettering or border.
