A postcard painted on a limewashed brick wall: the phrase "Gruss aus Köln-Ehrenfeld" appears in black capitals above a panorama of the district in the nineteenth century, rendered in greyscale. Tenement blocks, smoking factory chimneys, the domed water tower, a church spire, cast-iron railings and a horse-drawn cart are all recognisable.
