A hare painted head down, hanging by its hind legs from the roof edge, in Roa's characteristic anatomical manner: the right half shows the fur in fine grey hatching, the left reveals the musculature in red-brown tones, like a dissection plate. The long ears hang down the cream gable and the tail brushes the top of the gate.
