Rakaposhii is a Cologne artist and a fixture of the Ehrenfeld district, whose alias is borrowed from a peak in the Karakoram range in Pakistan. His work draws on spiritual, meditative imagery — reclining Buddhas, trees of life, mystical symbols drawn in white line on dark grounds — and also ventures into mural calligraphy, with large supple lettering in pastel tones. A reclining Buddha drawn in black line on a limewashed brick wall: the head rests on the left against a nimbus of concentric turquoise, orange and yellow circles, eyes closed, a red dot on the forehead and the hair rendered in tight spirals. The drapery of the body unrolls to the right in long parallel lines over more than ten metres, beneath a later red tag. Captain Borderline's target logo appears at the bottom left.
