Klaus Klinger, born in 1954 in Essen, is a muralist based in Düsseldorf. He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1973 to 1980, under Gerhard Richter among others, and in 1977 co-founded the Wandmalgruppe Düsseldorf, out of which the non-profit Farbfieber grew in 1987. Makeshift dwellings stack up in tiers across the whole gable, each opening sheltering a scene of daily life, beneath a construction crane and a gold coin standing in for the moon. Painted in 2007 on Merowingerstraße by Klaus Klinger with Kübra Sirinyurt and Jann Wienenkamp, the work carries the collective's signatures and the address farbfieber.de at its base.
