Jean Van Hamme (Brussels, 1939) is one of the most widely read comics writers in the world. Trained as an economist and a Philips executive before writing full time, he created Thorgal with Grzegorz Rosiński in 1977, XIII with William Vance in 1984, and then Largo Winch with Philippe Francq.
