A monumental portrait produced not by adding but by removing: the white wall has been carved with chisel and jackhammer, the render torn away to expose the dark layers that form the face. A long-haired woman stares at the passer-by, her features built from irregular black patches and chequered zones, against an untouched ground. The signature is carved on the right, at mouth height.
