The painted component of Mécaniques Discursives, a long-running work begun in 2011 by engraver Fred Penelle and digital artist Yannick Jacquet, where woodcut meets video projection. On the pale stone of the building's corner, black and white motifs float without setting: a pair of severed legs, an eagle owl perched on a branch, a winged figure with a cat's head, a screaming head, a butterfly and a blindfolded man in a suit. A cascade of cubes in perspective and tiles links them diagonally, following the chain-reaction principle that structures the whole series.
