A trompe-l'oeil mural painted at the corner of Rue de la Gouttière and Rue des Grands Carmes, at the request of an owner attached to the history of the neighbourhood. It reconstructs the Grands Carmes convent as it stood in the eighteenth century, before its demolition, after a period engraving: a bird's-eye view in grey, brown and cream in which the slate roofs of the church and its lantern tower rise above a tangle of stepped gables stretching to the horizon. The treatment deliberately imitates the intaglio of the original document.
