Dark Elixir is an artist from Normandy who works across illustration, mural painting and tattooing. His vocabulary is one of movement and colour: fluid matter, interlacing lines and open compositions in which poetic symbolism counts as much as the figure. In July 2021 he painted "Illusion" in Saint-Brieuc for the Just do Paint festival.

Painted in July 2021 by Normandy artist Dark Elixir for the Just do Paint festival, this mural runs the full height of the narrow gable of a five-storey block of flats. At the top, alone against a blue-grey ground, a pink lotus rises on a stem trailing long white filaments. Below it the paint breaks loose into pink, violet, yellow and blue flows crossed by liquid lines and white scrolls. The artist describes it as a play of colour, form and line that lets each viewer project their own reading, which is what the title says.
