Farid Rueda is a Mexican muralist born in 1986 in the state of Morelos. He grew up in Xochimilco, Mexico City, and trained at the National School of Plastic Arts (ENAP). His painting is recognisable by its saturated electric colour and its totemic animals, whose fur and feathers break down into repeated patterns borrowed from pre-Hispanic cultures. Painted in July 2023 by Mexican artist Farid Rueda for the Street Art en Baie festival, this mural fills the entire gable of a village house. The artist chose the rooster, emblem of France, and took up the blue, white and red of the flag as a background. Around it he scattered what marked his stay: rain, wind, a sun with a face, the sea, snails, an ermine. A glowing egg sits in the window surround, bottom right. The saturated flat colour and the repeated patterns that break down the plumage are his signature, tuned here to Breton imagery.
