Soy was born in 1975 in Scheveningen, in the Netherlands. He discovered graffiti at the age of eight, moved to Switzerland in 1985 and started painting in 1989; he has lived in La Chaux-de-Fonds ever since. His tag comes from a year spent in the Dutch Antilles, on Curaçao. He works on every kind of surface, but it is in the street and on walls that he built his style, between trompe-l'oeil, painte…

Painted in 2023 by Soy, an artist born in the Netherlands and based in Switzerland, for the Street Art en Baie festival. The mural covers the whole gable as a trompe-l'oeil: a painted drape appears to tear open onto a Breton sky where a black and white lighthouse stands. A dove and a hot-air balloon cross the scene, a compass rose and a gull fill the left side, and a huge blue eye banded with turquoise watches from the right. The artist says he wanted a breath of fresh air straight from the Swiss mountains: the dove and the balloon speak of peace and freedom, and the title puns on the French "libre comme l'air" to announce a new era of freedom.
