Tasso (Jens Müller), born in 1966 in Meerane, Germany, is one of the pioneers of photorealistic graffiti. Active since the early 1990s, he co-founded the MaClaim crew in 2001 with Akut, Case and Rusk, internationally recognised for their hyperrealistic spray-paint murals. Painted in July 2023 by German artist Tasso for the second edition of the Street Art en Baie festival, this mural covers the whole gable of a house. A woman's face in shades of blue fills the surface, framed so closely that forehead and chin run off the wall. The lenses of her sunglasses reflect a beach in the bay, worked in the same blues: walkers sitting facing the waves, a child in a red hat, a shore fisherman pulling his cart. Red appears only in touches, on the lips and two or three details of the reflection. A co-founder of the MaClaim crew, Tasso is one of the pioneers of photorealistic graffiti, and it is this contrast between the monochrome portrait and the scene carried in the lenses that holds the composition together.
