On the outer wall of Casa da Cerca, Almada's contemporary art centre, a young woman in a pale pink shirt draws botanical plates in an open sketchbook, between red poppies and a dark green ground, beneath a real street lantern worked into the composition. The broad, oil-like brushwork replays the stages of observational drawing: sketch, scientific plate, then realistic painting. Painted in January 2026 and Tamara Alves's first piece in Almada, it pays tribute to the O Chão das Artes botanical garden that surrounds Casa da Cerca.
