Signed J. de Montaigne on the wall, this piece by the Anglo-Portuguese artist rings a grey skull, painted with anatomical realism, with a crown of blue flowers, dark foliage and turquoise hummingbirds in flight. The whole sits on a wide white disc laid straight onto the raw concrete of a warehouse on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique. The contrast between bone and botanical delicacy carries her watercolour work of flowers and birds up to mural scale.
