A pheasant with outstretched wings rises from a bed of wildflowers against a deep-red wall. The work draws on the founding legend of Tbilisi, in which King Vakhtang's falcon captures a pheasant near the warm springs. Coppery plumage and an iridescent green head play against delicate floral and seed-pod motifs.
