Nafir - "scream" in Persian, a moniker chosen to protect his identity - is a self-taught street artist born in Tehran, the son of a carpet merchant. Active since 2008, he blends stencils, spray paint and motifs from Persian carpets and ceramics to address censorship and Iranian women's rights. Now based in Berlin, he has painted on four continents in more than fifteen countries.
