Biography
Twoone is the artistic name of Hiroyasu Tsuri, a Japanese artist born in 1985 in Yokohama. After moving to Melbourne in 2003, where he got to know the city through skateboarding and graffiti and became a fixture of the Australian scene, he based his studio in Berlin (2014) and later in Italy.
Known for monumental murals, his work blurs polarities - East and West, studio and street, figuration and abstraction - and often stages hybrid creatures, half-human and half-animal, in dynamic gestures.
Multidisciplinary, he also works in sculpture, installation, performance, film and sound. His work is held in collections such as the National Gallery of Australia, the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam and MUCA in Munich.
