Biography
Afzan Pirzade is an Indian muralist born in 1993 in Pune. Trained in Applied Art, he has been painting for sixteen years, seven of them as a full-time professional muralist, with four years dedicated specifically to street art.
His practice is distinguished by sharp monochromatic realism and monumental hyperrealist portraits. He works mainly in a sepia and earth palette, with occasional accents of saturated color, exploring the third dimension through composition and contrast. His works carry a contemplative melancholy that invites introspection.
Represented by Gallery XXL in New Delhi, the artist participates in both national festivals (Kumbh Mela, Jabalpur Festival) and international ones (Singapore). His tribute fresco to the artisans of Kumartuli in Kolkata, painted in 2022 as part of St+art India's "Donate a Wall" program, earned him national recognition in India.
