David Petroni

Biography

David Petroni is an Argentine artist born in 1984 in Buenos Aires. A Fine Arts graduate of the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) and a graphic design graduate of the Architecture Faculty (FADU-UBA), he has developed a multi-medium practice that combines urban murals, painting, engraving and three-dimensional volume.

His formal research is grounded in a deep study of colour, light and transparency: his murals unfold in geometric tilings of diamonds, triangles and primary squares that alter the spatial perception of the building. Drawing on colonial azulejos and modernist op-art, he turns façades into optical surfaces.

He paints in Buenos Aires, Lima, Paris, Lisbon, Rome, Gdańsk, Barcelona and Miami. His Colores de AMIA mural, painted in 2024 on the façade of the Jewish mutual aid society of Buenos Aires (Pasteur 633), ranked 16th best mural in the world on Street Art Cities and was honoured as Mural of the Month on the same platform.
